Our Staff - Doctors' Pediatric

Dr. Amy Agoglia has been with Doctors’ Pediatric since 1995. She completed her undergraduate education at SUNY Stony Brook and received her medical degree from SUNY Syracuse Upstate Medical Center. Dr. Agoglia then went on to complete a pediatric residency at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island. Dr. Agoglia is a member of the medical staff at both Norwalk and Danbury Hospitals, and she is board certified in pediatrics. Dr. Agoglia enjoys treating children of all ages. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, and traveling with her husband and two children.

Dr. Sarojini Kurrajoined Doctors’ Pediatric in 1994. Prior to that, she had practiced for six years in Brookfield, CT, and nine years in Flint, MI. She earned her medical degree in India at Guntur Medical College. Dr. Kurra completed her first year of residency training at Staten Island Hospital in NY, and then she went on to complete two years of residency training at Rush Presbyterian Medical center in Chicago. Dr. Kurra serves as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Norwalk Hospital. She also volunteers at the Ridgefield VNA and Americares (a free clinic in South Norwalk). Dr. Kurra lives in Wilton with her husband (Anesthesiologist) and her two daughters who are also physicians. Dr. Kurra is happy to announce that she is now a Grandmother!

Dr. Christine Macken joined Doctors’ Pediatric in 2014. She studied biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. Her particular interests include child development, lactation support, and asthma management. She lives in Wilton with her husband and three children. In her free time, she enjoys running and reading.

Dr. Melanie Mier joined Doctors’ Pediatric in 1999. She completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A in Chemistry. Upon graduating from college, she attended medical school at Mount Sinai Medical College in New York City and subsequently completed her pediatric residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Upon completing her pediatric residency, Dr. Mier was employed as a pediatric emergency room attending at both the University of Chicago Medical Center and the Northwestern Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Upon returning to New York, Dr. Mier spent the next five years as a clinical pediatric instructor/attending physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Mier is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She currently lives with her husband and children in Wilton, CT.

Dr. Meredith Renda joined Doctors’ Pediatric in 2009 and is a board-certified pediatrician. She completed her undergraduate studies at Colby College and earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Renda completed her Pediatric training at the Mayo Clinic. She is also a Certified Lactation Specialist and sees lactation patients at Doctors’ Pediatric. Dr. Renda enjoys children of all ages, and she has a particular passion for working with adolescents. Dr. Renda lives in Ridgefield with her husband, daughter, and twins. She enjoys running, singing, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Rebecca LePage joined the practice in 2019. She completed her undergraduate education at Dartmouth College where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University and subsequently completed her pediatric residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. LePage is a board-certified physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. While she loves working with all children, she is particularly interested in working with children with medically complex diagnoses, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges. Dr. LePage lives in Wilton with her daughter, twin sons, and dog. She is an avid reader and enjoys dancing, kickboxing, and traveling.

Dr. Lourdes Maisonet joined the practice in June 2020. After completing her undergraduate studies at Fordham University, she received her medical degree from UMDNJ/ New Jersey Medical School. She specialized in General Pediatrics during her residency at UMDNJ/Pediatric Residency Program and is Board Certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Maisonet is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore where she cares for patients in the pediatric emergency department. She enjoys treating children of all ages and interacting with their families. She is fluent in Spanish. While at home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and family.

Dr. Rachel Priem joined the practice in 2021. She loves working with children of all ages. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University studying child development and then did research on infant feeding at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She went on to medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and residency at Stony Brook University. She moved to Ridgefield with her husband, two sons, and labradoodle. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and biking in the surrounding area, and exploring ice cream spots.

Dr. Surekha Shenoy joined the Doctors’ Pediatric family in 2022. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Board-Certified Pediatrician. After completing her Pediatrics Residency at St Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in New Jersey, she worked at Darien Pediatrics from 2008-2020. Her interest in a child’s overall well-being has led her to complete a certification in Child and Adolescent mental health with the REACH Institute in NYC in 2019. She is dedicated to supporting her patients physically, mentally, and emotionally as they progress through various stages of life – from their newborn days to adulthood. She is a strong advocate for breastfeeding.

Dr. Shenoy also believes that promoting positive mental health and looking at mental health thru a public health lens is critical in young children and teens. Her interests include anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Her goal is to work together with her patients to help keep them healthy and thriving.

Dr. Shenoy speaks two Indian languages. Konkani and Kannada. At home, she loves to play the violin and is passionate about public speaking on issues concerning the pediatric and adolescent populations.

Dr. Katz will be joining the Doctors’ Pediatric family in April 2023. He grew up in Vero Beach, FL, and attended the University of Miami for his undergraduate degree. He attended St. George’s University in Grenada for medical school, completing his clinicals in Miami. Dr. Katz trained for residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is board-certified in pediatrics and a member of the AAP.

Dr. Katz loves working with kids of all ages and has a strong interest in helping with mental health. He is excited to move to the Connecticut area with his wife, dog, and cat. His interests include ice hockey, snowboarding, traveling, and eating good food with his wife.

In Memoriam

Dr. Joseph Hufnagel was known for his sweet, gentle disposition, wonderful smile, and sense of humor. Joe was selfless and dedicated his life to others. His biggest love in life was his wife and their five children. When he wasn’t enjoying his time with them, he was treating his young patients with kindness and compassion.
