Independence! Now that your child is mastering walking, he may also attempt to climb on stairs and other low lying objects. Children of this age love to pretend to “talk on the phone” and “feed a baby”. You may notice the beginnings of some tantrums as your child asserts his independence. Your child should show affection with familiar adults and show some trepidation with unfamiliar people. Your child will have one or two words besides “mama” and “dada”. Have fun at this stage. Your little one wants to share with you all that he is discovering.
