COVID-19

Spring Fever!!!

Spring fever is here!

Don’t forget, COVID is here too. Guidelines for vaccinated individuals have certainly changed in regard to being in groups unmasked indoors, but the recommendations really haven’t changed for unvaccinated people. Children less than 16 years fall under this category. [Read more…] about Spring Fever!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! Distant but togetherHappy Anniversary!

This week, I was trying to figure out a topic to write about, and it occurred to me that I am writing this on the “anniversary” of when I started to really understand that life was about to significantly change…and almost stop. [Read more…] about Happy Anniversary!

Hitting The COVID-19 Second Wall

by Dr. Meredith Renda

As I sit at the computer trying to decide on a Valentine’s gift for my kids/husband, it occurs to me that I haven’t been to the mall in a year,  I haven’t eaten in a restaurant, and I haven’t hugged my parents in 11 months.  I am both shocked by and defeated by this realization.  Time during this last year seems to have both sped up and stood still.

Now a Word From Your Pediatricians…… The Holidays and COVID-19

Happy Holidays!

The holidays are upon us, as well as cold and flu season. Holidays tend to have their own innate amount of stress, but this year the stress is compounded by rising COVID numbers. Many of us have family traditions that haven’t been broken for decades. The thought of breaking those traditions seems counterintuitive. Others of us are looking for an excuse to change up the holiday traditions, and this would be the perfect year.

Now A Word From Your Pediatrician…..

A warm welcome to all of our new patients, and a heartfelt hello to all of our wonderful Doctors’ Pediatric families.
It has been a while since we spoke last, and we wanted to take a few moments to touch base. First off, thank you so much for your patience and kindness during these major transitional times as we strive to make creative and unconventional changes to keep you safe. I think that we can all agree that CT did a wonderful job of keeping cases low over the summer and allowing a little bit of joy back into life. Sadly, this safer time is being quickly eroded.  Unmasked gatherings and more casual social distancing have caused cases to rise. The rate of rise is disturbing. If we aren’t careful, we will be right back to last march.

What should your plan be as society slowly reopens?

hopeful

Towards the end of the month, CT will slowly start a staged reopening. Before each new stage is
realized, the state will have to reach certain standards in regards to the COVID virus. Some individuals
are overjoyed that they will soon be able to sit in a restaurant or enter a retail store. Other individuals
are filled with a sense of anxiety and dread as this new phase starts. It is easier to adhere to certain
guidelines when rules are very black and white. The staged opening presents a gray area for many
people as to how they should act and what they should be thinking. [Read more…] about What should your plan be as society slowly reopens?
